Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy explains what data the Knife Rivals Discord bot and its web dashboard (together, “the Bot”) collect, why, and how you can have it removed. The Bot is a private bot run by an individual developer for the Knife Rivals Discord server.
1. Data the Bot stores
The Bot only stores what its features need. Depending on which features a server's administrators turn on, this can include:
- Discord IDs of users, channels, roles and servers, used to link the data below to the right place.
- Server settings chosen by administrators in the dashboard, such as channels, roles and message templates.
- Moderation records: warnings (user ID, moderator ID, reason, time).
- Tickets: who opened a ticket and when. When a ticket is closed, a transcript is saved. It contains the messages written in that ticket channel, including usernames, avatars and attachments links.
- Levels: XP and level per user (earned from messages and, if enabled, time in voice channels), if the leveling system is enabled.
- Invite tracking: who invited whom and invite counts, if enabled.
- AFK status: the AFK reason you set and when you set it.
- Temporary voice channels: who owns a temporary channel while it exists.
- Giveaways: prize, host and timing of giveaways.
- Dashboard audit log: which dashboard user changed which setting, and when.
2. Data processed without being stored
- Message content is read to run commands, auto-moderation (spam, links, blocked words, etc.) and leveling. It is not saved to the Bot's database.
- Snipe commands keep the most recently deleted or edited message, and recent reactions, per channel in memory only. This is wiped when the Bot restarts.
- Server logs: if a server enables logging, events such as deleted or edited messages are posted to that server's own log channel on Discord. The Bot does not keep its own copy.
- Voice XP: if a server turns it on, once a minute the Bot checks who is in voice channels and whether they are muted or deafened, to award XP. Only the resulting XP is stored. The Bot never listens to or records voice.
- Music: song searches and links are sent to the music source (for example YouTube, SoundCloud or Spotify) to play them.
3. Dashboard login
The dashboard uses “Log in with Discord” with the identify and guilds permissions. This gives the Bot your Discord ID, username and avatar, and the list of servers you are in, so it can check that you are allowed to manage the server. This information is kept in a session cookie that expires after 24 hours and is not shared with anyone. The Bot never sees your Discord password or email address.
4. How data is used
Data is used only to provide the Bot's features inside the server where it was collected. It is not sold, used for advertising, or shared with third parties, apart from Discord itself and the music sources mentioned above.
5. Where data is kept and for how long
Data is stored on a private server hosted by OVHcloud in Canada. It is kept until it is no longer needed: for example, when moderators clear warnings, administrators delete ticket transcripts, or a deletion request is handled. Ticket records are removed when their channel is deleted.
6. Your choices and data removal
You can ask for the data the Bot holds about you, or ask for it to be deleted, by contacting the developer (see below). Some data, such as warnings or ticket transcripts, may be kept if the server's staff need it for moderation, but you can still ask about it. Server administrators can delete warnings, transcripts and settings at any time from the dashboard or with bot commands.
7. Children
The Bot is meant for Discord users, who must meet Discord's minimum age requirement. It does not knowingly collect extra data about children.
8. Changes
This policy may change as the Bot changes. The date at the top shows the latest update.
9. Contact
For questions or data requests, message the developer on Discord: dexade, or open a ticket in the Knife Rivals Discord server.
